Quite the odd way of doing things but, cool to see someone do something different none the less. -
my first try at hand laying carbon fiber. This was just made from a scrap piece cut from a large diffuser made for the FSAE chassis wher i work. Pretty simple little gauge pod for AFR and boost. may add a third for oil pressure later. I also really want to try and completely wrap a center console if someone has a spare they can give me laying around.

yeah, I've been there for 3 years now. I work for Stevens Institute and run their SAE shop and senior design program. There aren'ta lot of e30's around, but there here. Mine is generally hidden away in a garage in North Jersey though hahaha. =(Leave a comment:

thanks man, I've been secretly eye balling your facebook progress quietly as well ...not creepy at all hahaha. Love the classic coming together man, we'll have to get together some time soon. I'm trying to plan a cross country road trip for this summer but doubt it will be in the Bimmer haha.

charge pipe construction.. sleeper mode all under the hood and pics of the wastegate location. outlet straight back to downpipe
i know it looks like it but the finished product wont actually touch the rad hose, no conduction there but small conerns about convective heat soaking, thiking i may install a meth injection for safe measure if i choose to run more than 6-8lbs
little 3-5lb spring in a deltagate with a boost controller for the megasquirt. perfect for low boost operations to around 8 psi

video of compressor wheel on first start (no charge pipe)
more current pics and a another video link to the first start of the engine and turbo together (no charge piping though). I just need to finish up the charge pipe and a few more small wiring things and she'll be all set for a day of tuning.
Custom side mount with a fan setup so i can go sleeper with this thing, gonna duct it from a head light bucket at some point and still need to trim the backets to get hood to close
and my new work table for bay 2 taken straight from the dumpster
and now that you fought through all that here is the video tehehehe

long overdue pictures.. will get some of the pretty custom engine build pics when the CP Carrillo stuff gets here. this is just the OEM test platform gonna run like 7 -10psi and learn / workout the megasquirt stuff on this poor thing
First two of when it first came in. bought that for 200 bucks but turned out it had a bad head gasket. -- was supposed to be the pic above
then what i did with my time awaiting parts for the real build....
I think i need a strut bar lol
working on finishing up the downpipe now, need to adjust a little as the first measure and fit didn't work out quite right

Thanks man, I wish more people would just step up and help like that when they see problems. I figured it out shortly after though with some digging into my notes and online. I also had the wrong Jpin in the megasquirt to boot so it took a little extra debugging. I'll get some more pics up soon. Gonna try and be a more active member than just a classifieds whore lol.Leave a comment:

There is a small black wire on the harness that you have to wire in on the car side for the tach.Leave a comment:
