that fresh valance looks so good. I know how you feel about going through valances; i was driving out on deserted roads between maupin and bend the other weekend and took a corner too hard and smashed up my valance pretty badly.

alas, the hunt for a fresh one begins. hope mine looks as good as yours in the end.

I appreciate the kind words for mine. If you're thinking of getting a brand new one from BMW, I'd move quickly. I was just price-checking the part number at my local dealer a few weeks ago and they said there were half a dozen or fewer left in the states and 16 in Germany; I ordered one on the spot because with my luck they'd have been all gone when I had intended to order a couple months down the line.

Looks good. I like the splitter as well. Did you always have the mono-wiper setup?

Good eye :) - No, I had it laying around for a few months but only put it in last week.

It's color matched based on the code, I'm not sure of the actual brand of paint that the shop used. This place is constantly working on and painting classic Lambos, Ferraris, Maserattis, Astons, etc. They're more than half done building a one-off 4dr bentley drop top. The rest of my paint is 200,000 miles old.

Just got my valance, bumpers and mirrors back from the painters where they used the code (218) to color match. I don't know the brand of paint they used but the color match wasn't very close. Not as bad as this picture but very close. I have an alpine lll e36 and my parts matched closer to it than my alpine ll e30. I'm going back to the painter and have them paint the lip with some Limco paint that I bought from Industrial Finishes for touch ups. If that doesn't do it then I think I will try alpine l (code 146) and see how it looks and go from there.

Any painters care to weigh in on why the color match is so far off and how to make it closer?
what you did to this car is like getting a supermodel naked and willing to do anything you please. now here you are faced with ths once in a lifetime opportunity and then you squander it by making her fuck you in the butt with a 24" strap on. you are a sad, silly little boy.

How much did that valence run you?

That valence and lip are Alpine White II. The fender is causing such a stark contrast because there's 22 years of shit in that fender's paint, as well as every other panel on the car.

~$280 from the dealer if my memory serves?
