Car looks like a good starting platform.
Your volvo lip has gaps between it and the valance because it looks like you still have the IS lip clips still attached and are in the way.

Fix the battery tray/rear valance rust before it consumes you!

I actually took the clips off in the more recent pictures. Not because I had to, but because I broke them all off by hitting a parking spot barrier

it fits and looks a lot better, if you had a hoodrat ride you'd mount it the way you have it now, flip it the other way (like how it's mounted to the volvo)
