Finally got around to fitting the turbo....

Not the final location of the turbo, the manifold is being made by an exhaust shop. I know its dirty, I'll degrease it after I mock up the plumbing.

    very cool
i love the m10 engine, it seems so classic BMW. i had one as a project car for my first car, but unfortunately didn't get the opportunity to work on it (get it running). I was 15 and had such high hopes... :(

i've always been interested in turbo m10's and i hope yours goes well for you. Will you be tracking it?

Autocross, nothing major. I'm looking for Bilstiens HD's with the smaller diameter for this thing and some H&R's.

You got it. It's just temporary. I'll switch to a FMIC eventually.

I had a 318i. I would recommend chaning the front suspension to that of a 325is. Unless you have other plans for brakes, these will take care of your brakes since the 318i is so light. Also you will be able to use the Boge Turbo Gas shocks that I have for a 325is.

How difficult is the swap to a 325 front? Cutting and welding of the frame required?

No, just change the front struts. The 325 ones are 6mm larger in diameter.

I thought the problem was that the 325i struts wouldn't fit?

Disregard the pm kyle. I just bought the HD's w/ the smaller diameter. Now I just need some H&R's.

you don't really want HDs with lowering springs. You will probably have bottoming out issues.. try to get some sports, or like everyone else is telling you, upgrade to the larger strut, it's exactly the same amount of work as changing the strut inserts.
