Newly aquired 92' vert- the beginning of the end

New to the forum, figured I would start a thread for my new project. I searched for a pretty long time for the perfect car. It was in Canada, and importing it was too difficult/impossible because of certain restrictions. I pretty much got tired of trying to go above and beyond to find the perfect car, and decided to find something convenient that would be a good start for a project. And so, I found a 92 318 vert with 60k miles.

The car is a real looker.... from about 5 feet away. If you get up close and personal, you will see that it was a poorly executed build, with poor craftsmanship, zero thought, and quite honestly a great deal of stupidity. Which doesnt exactly concern me, just frustrates me because I dont just need to replace things that are broken, but rather replace things that are broken, and fix the half assed modifications.

I have a lot of plans, but im not going to list them. Figured ill just update this thread. enough of me talking, onto some pictures :)

The last pictures show the beginning of the end of the way this car used to look. Not pictured is a hideous fiberglass front lip that was epoxied to the front valence. This was removed and will be replaced with an IS lip. The yellow is on its way out. going back to chrome kidneys, and just picked up some euro smileys which will be retrofitted with 50000k HID's.

    Cheers!

    Mike

Nice car Mike. It doesn't look too bad.

I saw the sale thread of those RS's. Are you building 16'' RS's or something else ?

I'm eager to see more of this project.

              Jim,

Yea, currently building a set of 16" RS's. I have everything figured out exept the lips. May need to get some insight from you. The 17's are for sale, for cheap, and for good reason. The previous owner was an idiot. The centerbore is too large to run stock lugs, and as a result te center was bent. He could have ran tuner lugs and not had any issues :( now they should be fixed, taken apart, and repainted! But this is a project for someone else...

It sucks. I can't mount mine with stock bolts too.

Feel free to ask me all the questions you want. What model RS's are your 16'' and how much poke do you want ?

Saw the for sale ad on Cl for the car. If you go with silver center RS we'll have twin verts.
