New to the forums. Freshly painted E30

    Whole set here:

I've had my E30 for 9 years. It has 280k on it started life as a Burgundrot 1986 325e. I was in a collision a year or so ago:

and with a car that old and with that many miles, it was easily totaled.

I decided the car meant too much to me and had served me too well to go out like that, so I have embarked on a plan to rebuild the car into what it truly can be. My next plans are new wheels and brakes (16s to clear bigger brakes) and a ground control coilover suspension. Then eventually a dual cam swap.

Anyway, this forum looks great and thought I should show my ride!

Great candidate for some Euro bumpers. Nice a trim early model. Should consider getting Haggerties for your insurance purposes.

I'm actually pretty well set on keeping my big bumpers. I had them painted so they're satin black now, and i like em. I have an original ES front spoiler and an ES/IS rear spoiler off at the bodyshop right now, and I'm going to get a set of wing mirrors and get those painted, but keep my black ones incase I decide to go back. I know euro bumpers is popular, but I've embraced the big bumper :)

Thanks for the kind words. Having owned two E36 M3s and a Z3 M Coupe, this car always put every bit as much of a smile on my face driving it as those cars did.

Holy shit, honestly if you dropped the rear a little bit it would be really awesome. It looks great as is, but the rear down would pull it together nicely, even with the diving boards and less than stellar wheels. Fucking proper tire fitment though, meaty is the way to go.

wow! Talk about a rebirth! That paint looks amazing! But as 5Spoke said.. that rear end needs to hit the floor! (not exactly..lol) but get a little lower and it will look nice and clean, the wheel choice pops nicely with the shining paint!

also.. what color did you choose if you don't mind me asking.

Ground Control coilovers are on the docket in the future, and the car will definitely go lower. Right now its just sitting on Bilstein HD shocks and E30 M3 OE springs.

I like the wheels as they are, but I plan on getting some flat black Rota Slipstreams in 16x8 and putting some 215/45-16 Kumho Ecsta XS's on there, and the MASSIVE street/track big brake kit underneath them.

The paint is BMW's Stratus Grey Metallic, and it is *awesome*. In different lights its green, grey, gold, yellow, blue, its just really fantastic.

Your car looks very good. Any interior shots? Can just barely see the front seats. Want to see more.

                      Thanks

Any pics of the paint in the engine bay/door jambs, etc? New paint make a car so much better. Need to fix the rear bumper surround though.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30
