From what I understand about Gopros is that they're fisheye lensed camera's. Unless the place you buy has altered/changed the lens.

I may be wrong on this, so if somebody that knows more would care to chime in, that'd be cool.

you are correct... check out all the attachments u can get its crazy.. they make a set up for 3-D , u have to get 2 go pros and a special case...
