Well, we're 3/4 done. My suspension off, his suspension off, his suspension on my car. Then I had to head to work :)

Man, doing illegal speeds in this boat now is a far cry from the eibachs and bilsteins. Driving a car with a good setup and then driving it with a stock setup a few hours later will REALLY make you appreciate your suspensions.

Good luck Jeremy - we'll all be waiting for pics ;)

PS - in that pic with the house at an angle - the car is on a hill, the house is level. He just turned the camera ;)

hey man ummm having quite a few problems here

uhhh first my moms boyfriend said the rear shocks are blown because theres little to no resitence when he compressed them by hand err... and they rebound extremely slowly

ummm second my outer balljoint on the driver side is stripped to shit so i need a new control arm or a new balljoint but my manual says i cant do the balljoint without replacing the whole control arm

also on the struts you gave me ummm not sure if the threads are stripped or just rusted to shit but i had to rethread them so my shitty studs would screw in....ummmm oh yea and on the struts you gave me there is no where for the abs sensors to go it looks like there sealed..i mean theres a space where they should go with the exact same shape as the sensor but its sealed with no hole....did your car even have abs?

anyways i got the rears all done and on the ground now i have to wait until i either get new control arms or repair the ball joints...damnit this sucks

First - the rear shocks are not blown. They are almost new. I drove on them for barely two months - heck, I even drove the car TO your place this morning. There's nothing wrong with them.

Second, you can't replace the ball joint - you need to replace the control arm. If you feel as I'm to blame, I'll be happy to give you another one.

There was also nothing wrong with the hubs - you saw how easily the factory studs came out. Your terrible quality, aftermarket, ebay studs are to blame - they probably aren't even the right thread pattern. As I told you - you get what you pay for. Those aren't stud's I'd be running.

As for the ABS, I told you my car had ABS but it didn't work so I didn't even bother to hook it up. The strut housings are from a non-abs car. If you want to put your abs back in, you'll have to get a set of ABS strut housings - but you said the light was on anyways, so it most likely wasn't working in the first place. My recommendation is to just unplug the sensor.

If you really want your strut housings back, we can try and arrange that - but on the drive home I realized one of your bearings sounds like it's going or gone - so it'd be pretty pointless to put that back in.

Let me know what you want to do. You should have let me know all this before posting, as I'm more than happy to help you.

Oh I was late all right - by about a half hour. I told my boss what happened - he was cool about it. Luckily his two bosses are out on weekends :)

Ok, I was hoping you were just disappointed and not pissed at me! I tried my best, I wish I could have stayed to help you finish.

As for the ABS - if your light was on before we replaced the struts, it probably wasn't working. Follow the sensor wire up into the engine bay, unplug it, and take it out. If you feel like fixing it some day, then you'll at least have the sensor. There's no way to install it on the non-abs strut housing - you'll need a pair of ABS strut housings.

Yeah - the studs are the problem. Seriously, I'm surprised they didn't just snap on you. If you're gonna run 20mm spacers, you gotta run some quality studs - we'll find you a set - turner or someone. To be honest, I'd do that before you drive it again - that gives you a few weeks. But what I saw today with those studs - I wouldn't bring the car down the road.

Those rear struts - and someone else can confirm - I don't think they're supposed to compress and rebound quickly unless under a heavy load. Those things are firm as HELL in the car. You'll see what I mean. I don't sell crap - don't replace those, you'll be kicking yourself!

If you want some help with the control arm, or want one from me instead of buying from ebay, let me know.
