    New Member and my 318is

    Howdy Guys & Gals !

I was lucky enough to snag up a 1991 318is and wanted to share with you all.

My background is ...... I had one of these back in high school and it was t-boned and totalled out by a 70 yr old blind woman.

Close to 8 years later I came across this bad boy in my home town of all places and am more than excited to join the e30 family again.

I've been driving my 07 Ram 2500 for a couple years and jumping into the 318 brought back so many good memories!

Paid $1,900 for it. Odo stopped at 189k. Passed CT emissions test with flying colors. Nice clean shell with lots of potential. This car will stay M42 for its life!

Here is a few shots for now.

Look forward to visiting this site on a daily basis.

        I'm also a new 318is owner---

got mine in Sept after ten years of 325 eta ownership, still playing catch-up with all those little niggly things that go wrong on a 20 year old car...the interesting thing is that it feels totally different from my 325--smaller, quicker and more nimble, even though I know the body shells are identical. Must be that high revving engine.

Hope to be enjoying mine for some years to come.

        cheers

For now its all strickly maintenance items. Second day it was in my hands I did oil, diff oil, transmission, coolant flush, plugs & wires, thermostat, fuel filter, fan clutch and new rubber on all 4.

Funny you mentioned the intake mess being I just ordered all the oem gaskets and stuff on Friday.

Next on the list is timing chain, tensioner and sprocket.

Suspension will be my first mod for sure as she handles like a bag of shit at the moment ..... H&R cup kit and some Bilsteins may be my Xmas present to myself.

              Howdy, nice car.

              I just recently got a 1991 318is as well.

              Mine's brillantrot/black vinyl.

I also have a fairly completely prepped autoX e30 325i, and I agree with the previous comment that the 318is feels more nimble etc. I attribute that to the car having less weight in the nose and overall better weight balance.

Actually, in some ways I think it feels a touch more like a 2002 than an e30 325i.

              Cheers,
              d.hitchcock
