I just got my fully built M44 up and running tonight. The swap includes and OBDII 318ti control unit- because MAF, and knock sensors. The latter are greatly appreciated since I have 11.5:1 compression. Here are the rest of the specs:
    1950cc's total
Ported/polished late M42 head w/ early exh cam and a Delta intake cam
I went with all early intake manifolds since I think they favor higher rpm use.
S50 pistons milled to achieve the above comp ratio.
Bunch of other less interesting stuff
    Vid is on IG 320ie30

Definite +1 on 225/45, not only will it fill up the fender gap a bit more, it will also give you the exact same rolling diameter as stock.

P.S. some meaty 205/55/15 would really fill up the gap, and give you a more comfortable ride
205/55/15 tires won't fit on his 16" wheels.

An Is lip is on my long list of wants- including side skirts. Someday when I get the chedder as you say.

And try to remember that skinny tires are made for very low cars. If you put some proper height tires on there you would close the gap. Looks like you're running a 215/40/16? Try 225/50/16 next time.
Uh ok. I'll 'try to remember' that. My ride height is perfect for the DD purpose of this car. The low camera angle makes the gap look much bigger than in real-life. H&R race are not in my future plans, but thanks for expressing your feelings that they "should be". Other than the Volvo lip and banged up front valance (I have a straight one but its silver), I am completely happy with how my car looks.

Honestly if your worried about scraping the front lip if the car was lower, switch to just an "I" lip. If it was a little lower overall and you added the "I" lip it would look cleaner than now overall imo. But other than that i think it looks good, keep it up man.

EDIT: also use some zipties to pull in the ends of your volvo lip, makes it look a LOT better
thanks. and I am mostly just waiting for my wife to rip it off on a curb so I can get a real Is lip and side skirts.
