Step Three: Body Work
So, the body work has begun.. I have never played with body filler before but I think it came out OK. I know my technique was probably shit but in the end I think it will be just fine. There were a few door dings as well as a bunch of pitting on the hood and front bumper. The next step was vinyl. I use 3M scotchprint for all my wrap jobs because its what im used to. Today I did the hood, a front fender, a little bit of the front bumper and the trunk. The color im using is a matte dark grey. I like how its turning out.

How hard is it to do the vinyl? Is it expensive? I wouldn't mind doing this to my car for like a summer. One of my first mods once I buy myself a decent laptop is going to be spraying my interior like yours. The first car I ever rode in was an e30

vinyl isnt the easiest thing to get into. When I wrapped my first car it took me about 30-40 hours. The best thing to do is learn with a friend who is good with his/her hands. it took me and my buddy about 1-1.5 hours to do my hood, trunk and front fender. Thats from beginning to end including cutting and tucking. He was heating and pulling while I was positioning and squeegying. I wouldnt say dont do it, but realize its like any other skill that you do with your hands, it takes a lot of practice and some people just arent cut out for the meticulousness. Its usually about 300$- $500for 10 yardsComment

Awesome project! I love the wrap, I have wanted to do this on something for a while, but couldn't figure out how to do tricky parts like the front valence. Good job!Comment

Thanks man. I don't see too many Vinyled e30's... I actually have seen any so hopefully this is the first one. Either way its a neat color and I can't wait to have it completed. If i finish tonight I will take cell pics and then some good pictures next week.Comment

Thanks guys! I was determined to finish tonight and so I did. Here is the car finished. The wrap is done and for some reason the pictures come out a little more blue than the real color. By next weekend I'm hoping to have my coil overs in and then I just need to wait for my wheels and tires.
