black wheels have to be put on an appropriate car and color in order to look good... haha he has only invested a few hundred bucks and it looks a lot better than a lot of e30's i've seen in the past...AHEM... i fuckin need to buy a euro e30 and have it shipped here.. they are a fuckin dyme a dozen in the uk and mtech2 325i sports are a plenty... though i love the euro chrome bumpers... the combination of chrome window trim and bumpers combined with the red and gloss black wheels looks ill as fuck... no denying the sickness... mad props man.

thanks for all the compliments. The wheels are black, because they looked like crap, and it took 5 min. to make them black. These rims and tires are only going to be on the car for a month or so, then i will put the 15" basketweaves back on-- they have snow tires on em. I get about a 50/50% like or hate on the wheels over here in germany, most germans seem to hate em in black, but i like it cause its different, and easy to take care of.
I want to get the Mtech I side skirts for it, but the project is low budget, so ill just wait for them to come around. just missed a set the other day, the guy who got them before me from the junkyard, cut them in half to put on a golf-!!!!!!!! bastard!
Im having a good time witht the car!!! the whole summer I drove my Chevy truck over here----BMW widthdrawls---so, driving a BMW on the autobahns is once again more than a thrill! It has a 4.10 read diff-- and bounces off the revlimiter like crazy at 220 kmh in 5th gear. but boy is it fun on the twisties over here.
as far as the height in the rear, I cant figure out why it wont sink, I have put 3 different sets of lowering springs in the rear(that were all to low for the rear of a friends americam specs 89 325i)
and they all still make the rear of the car to high on mine. I think alot of it has to do with that the car is a VERY stripped down version 318i now (with a 6 in the front)and is really lightweight. even the capret is cheap, and thin (factory) no sounddeadening mat. anywhere.Last edited by mikeedler; 10-07-2005, 11:38 AM.Comment

Light ass rear end + 4.10 gears + M20 power + georgeos car = bad candidate to be a winter beater, IMHO. Give it to me :DComment

in europe, you could order these cars with absolutely nothing-- the us only got the more top of the line stuff. thats why the 316 isnt offered in the states. even the headliners, and trunk carpet is of a thinner, cheaper quality. the doors and everything feel really light and cheap- no power anything in them-except the left mirror, and the heating elements in them. the car came with heated washer jets to--but that was it, not even a tach., or the heating plastic ducts for the rear people under the seats. even the wiring harness is really small in comp. to a 325 euro model, they knew if you were buying a 1.6 L motor that you were a cheap bastard and couldnt afford the extras- i guess.
i will be ok with the car this winter, i have driven 325 bmws for the last 10 years atleast. I just cant wait to get a LSD in it. that will make it a ton of fun in the snow--drift machine.Last edited by mikeedler; 10-07-2005, 12:17 PM.Comment

I am driving through the winter, because i bought it for that. I never thought the car was going to be as nice as it is-- when i looked throught the news paper for a cheap BMW to drive through the winter. trust me, i would love to put it up next to the M3 for the winter too.
I have my E30 M3 for my really nice toy, my chevy truck for everyday ride(which i want to redo this winter) the reason i bought a winter car, wife has the touring for the kid-- if i didnt drive this car, the wife would kill me.
and on top of it all, the car has been driven in the winter since 1986-an its still the orig. paint. after the winter, it will still look at least as good as now. I have a disorder with driving a car that is even a little dirty, so the car will probably be washed every 2 days or so in the winter.Comment

damn that shit would be sooo sideways with a 4.10 lsd... lol my 3.73 lsd in the rain is like driving on ice i swear... prolly has a lot to do with the tires though...
