dont get me wrong, i would love the extra 80hp but the price tag on the 01+ for just that minor change in motor is outrageous.
For me, the parts and maintenance costs on the s54 outweigh its power advantage.

Ill see if i can get mike (the estoril e36m) to send me his dyno sheet, making 299whp.

After a couple of years of people asking you if you got an S54 car, you'll sell yours to buy one. Once you spend some more time in the bfc Z3 section you'll find that seemingly every S54 Coupe owner had an S52 model prior.

If you know you are going to be putting a lot of miles on it why did you not purchase a 318is to save on fuel and wear and tear on the resale value of the shoe?

Because i wanted a shoe, not another box ;)
I love the looks and feel of the z4m coupe and will probably end up with one in the years to come.

on the e36m: obdI manifold, 3.5intake with porsche maf, headers and full straight pipes to AA muffler, and evosport cams (other odds and ends i cant think of). Another guy on bf.c dyno'd at 291 wheel with those cams. Other guys are making upwards of 270wheel with the relatively mild schricks. Ill bug him for the sheet.
