Picked this ix up about a week ago for about 1200. at 168k miles, for the most part, it has proven to be mechanically sound, save a binding hood latch and two very blown front struts. this guy bought the car off of a dealer who took it as a trade in when the vehicle was supposed to get serviced and they could not get the struts. apparently this guy said he went through hell to get the strut cartridges, but threw them in with the car. there is surprisingly next to zero rust on the car, just some surface rust in small spots on the hood and trunk and a single bubble on the sunroof.
the interior is pretty decent, but needs a new auto handle, a glove box latch and some trim pieces. definitely want to swap the economy seats for some sport seats though.
got the hood latch fixed shortly after getting her home. pulled the latch and found the binding issue due to some oxidation. decided on making a homemade pickle acid bath and soaked for about 4 hours. worked amazing!! lubed the latch back up and back in it went. the bad was that the cable was kaput, but no biggie for now.
the paint is oxidized as all get out, but that will be taken care of as soon as it warms up enough to get it done. that being said, the exterior is not exactly in top shape..she will need a new set of bumpers, fenders, a valence, lip, a new set of fogs and probably another set of flares down the line.
after a sweet euro spec E34 and an E39 540 M-sport, i must say it sure is nice to be back in an E30. First AWD car i have owned yet, and i have to say it is loads of fun so far. I definitely see it getting a new set of paint and some mild-ish mods further down the line..and optimistically, a possible manual swap somewhere in the future, but that is a ways off. Anyways, here are pics.

after a little engine bay cleaning...

oh and a plug, i am also in need of the hood hinge that attaches to the damper...it was toasted when i got it
