Just spent 2 hours adjusting the front ride height as I thought it was a bit low and I kept having anxiety attacks when I see uneven pavement.
I was too stupid to write down the start measurements, raised the car up about 1/2", rolled the car back, didn't like the gap due to the stretched tire, put the car back up, lowered it 1/4", rolled the car back, didn't like the gap, put the car back up, lowered the driver side only back down some more, rolled the car back and liked how it looked, put the car back up and set the passenger side, rolled the car back and I'm happy.
Well the head came off and it was determined that the head gasket failed between cylinders 5 & 6, the gasket between the remaining cylinders were damaged as well during inspection.
New gaskets have been ordered, carbon cleaned off the piston heads and the head has been checked out.
I should get the car back on Monday so I can start the interior project.

Picked the car up from Blitzkrieg and I noticed the following:
- either my 318 with the m10 is really slow or this s52 is really quick
- the shift throw in the touring is 1/3 of the one in the 318
- the clutch pedal in the 318 grabs at the top, the pedal in the touring catches at the bottom.. this made it for a very interesting couple of moments.
- the tight steering rack in the touring is very nice
The engine purrs a lot better than it did before and I probably had a couple of failing exhaust gaskets as the fumes I used to smell are no longer present.
Car seems to be more responsive than before but I have to admit I forgot how peppy a ride an s52 was like. Maybe it is better now that the engine got a bit of a refresh?
Now I can start stripping the interior out and get things ready for the new interior that is coming in a couple of months.
Now that the engine problem has been fixed it now the time I start dismantling the interior and get it ready for my OCD ownership.
The ultra suede seats were removed, the rear seats were a hassle to pull out
front seats and center console coming out so I can remove the front carpet for a steam cleaning
When I reached down to lift up the passenger side carpet i felt some moisture, took a peak underneath and saw this
Having gone through this with my e30 convertible 2 years ago I was not shocked to see water soaked foam, but it was a downer.
Pulling the carpet out the back door
After inspecting the foam is it soaked but not slimy or stinky. It did leave a faint mildew scent on my hands though
This is what I got to see after the carpet was removed
Always nice to see a bundle of cut wires taking a bath
On the driver side there was come condensation on top of the replacement sound deadening the PO installed
Removing the panels so I can clean things up and replace with Dynamat. Then I can see the por15 the PO applied to the area after he repaired a rust spot prior to my purchase of the car
I was happy to see that the majority floor is quite clean of rust so the cleanup stage should not take long to complete.
Next steps are to find the water leak, remove the factory sound deadening, surface rust cleanup, por15 application where required before I go nuts with the Dynamat.
