MR 325...quite the E30 collection there. How did you end up selling a car and then buying it back years later? Sold it to a friend/family etc?
Actually not at all. I sold it through R3V and shipped it off the the buyer in PA. Later on he sold it to his mechanic out there who sold it to me. When it was posted here on R3V for sale by him it was a small ad with a Craigslist link that didn't take much notice. It took me about a month to finalize the deal but I am definitely happy to have it back.
As I'm sure you've gathered I've been a VW guy from the get go. First car, I'm proabaly about 16 in this pic. '73 Super Beetle. It got totaled by some dickhead that hit if from behind while parked in front of my house. Before that I added upgraded stereo, suspension & sway bars, Recaro seats, dual Kardon carbs, Monza exhaust, and baja 10 spoke wheels;
Second car, '66 Bug, bought with insurance money from the first. I pretty much bought it like this, but the PO put a 1776 motor in it without doing anything as far as setting the compression ratio so that motor SCREAMED, and grenade-ed pretty damn quick. I built a second 1776 with CB performance heads & rocker shafts, fully balanced & blueprinted, deep sump, dual Kardrons, headers, and a single cherry bomb. Sold it to buy the next car, an '83 GTi with a (blown, when i got it) Techtonics Tuned 9a/8v motor with a schrick cam that was also a ripper when I got it back together, but I have no pics of that one, unfortunately;
The Gti's cam snapped in half (WTF! I've owned a second '83 and an '84 Gti since then, all sold) and I resold it and bought a Nissan Quest to drive across the country when I moved from NC to CO, then I bought and 01.5 S4, and added RS4 DTM rep wheels with Khumo Ecstas, poly snub mount from APR, and a low temp fan switch to cool the turbos down when they were hot;
The S4 was stupid expensive to maintain so I picked up my current e30 as a daily, and eventually sold the Audi because it didn't really want to deal with the maintenance i.e. the turbos that always die eventually. The e30 is great but kind sucks in the snow after coming from Quattro, so I picked up a '92 100cs wagon. No picks of that that i can find, but we all know what an Audi wagon looks like. I drove that for a winter and sold it to a friend who is still driving it today, with about 280k miles on the clock! Next was a huge departure from what I'm usually into and I picked up a '73 Dodge Sportsman/Balboa RV;
Rocked that for a summer, including living in it for about a month, decided to move from Boulder back to Winter Park & needed a winter daily more than the RV, so I sold it & got a '94 Suburban 1500, which I still have & is currently for sale;
So that brings us to the present. Whenever I find a buyer for the Suburban, I'll be looking for another Euro wagon!

Ok so as a long time lurker small time poster, I came across this last night, thought i would post up. I like the thread idea, and haven't seen a similar one on the cruiser or mr2 board. So, here are my cars....
No pics of the 1990 Toyota 4Runner I got when I was 16. Died after having the living shit beat out of it for 5 years.
Next I got a 1997 Toyota 4Runner. Sold that about 1 year ago. Miss that car dearly. Beat the living shit out of that thing as well, and it did not die. I hope the person I sold it to is loving it as much as I did.
next up, owned simultaneously, and still in the stable is a 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo. I have owned it for 6 years now, and it is a fantastic car, a blast to drive, and I still daily drive it to work. Did a bunch of autox and track days with it.
So I blew up the engine and swapped a healthy one in the MR2, but learned my lesson and picked up a dedicated track car. 1986 Porsche 944. Slower than the MR2, but faster around the track. Sold this last fall.
Picked up my first BMW last year after selling the 4Runner.
a 1999 328i sedan, manual trans, H&R springs, ZHP package added.
Nice commuter car. Currently for sale, $6k.
Picked this thing up last fall after selling the 944. Going to take it down to the desert next weekend to play.
Will roll over 200k next time I drive it.
Which brings us to the e30 that is finally running. I haven't driven it in a year. 1988 325ix. Just got a refreshed motor, completely refreshed suspension. Ready to be my winter dd.
Just figured out my old Photobucket account password. Ran through memory lane and decided to resurrect this old thread (instead of starting a new one, noobs).
Well I guess I should play in this thread. I've had 30 plus cars easy, but between digit devices failing/getting lost and my hate for Facebook I don't have many pictures left. Here's a couple of the highlights:
'03 Cobra. Bought it semi-brand new with only 2K miles on it. Made 403 wheel with just intake exhaust. This was back in 2004-2006 I had it.
'06 Infiniti G35 Sport. Light bolt ons, made 274 wheel. Went 13.50s at 104 I think.
Yes those are ET street on the back of a G Sedan.
'90 Twin Turbo Z32. A couple of bolt ons. Ran okay kinda.
'97 Acura CL V6. Awesome daily.
I've had over 7 DSMs, mostly Talons. Here's a few pics. Most of them made over 400 wheel
04? Honda Element. Another incredibly awesome daily. Dropped on junk wheels.
91 Supra. 1JZ-GTE swap, big single turbo swap(T66), bolt ons, ran like a bauce. Made close to 400 wheel and went low 13s very traction limited.
I think that's all I have pictures of. This is maybe a quarter of the cars I've owned sadly. I've had tons of Civics, Integras, Jeeps, Trucks. Thankfully this thread doesn't include motorcycles, we'd be here all night. Here's my most currents.
87 325e. Had one for my first car, we're back at it again. It's my daily.
Finally my baby. 07 335i. Helix intercooler, JB4 ISO stacked on a Dinan Stg 2 tune, custom charge pipes, 2.5" catless DP, custom built exhaust, H&R springs, Miro 19x8.5 19x10 wheels, other do dads.
