Starting to clean up and shave my engine bay..

Just wanted to share some of my current progress on my car.

It seems as if I have been on this page everyday lately gathering crucial information and lurking for pictures of other peoples set ups. Everyone has been a lot of help.

This is my second E30 but 3rd engine swap.

I swapped a M50 non-vanos into my first E30, a M50 vanos into my friends E30, and now finally a S50 into my current E30. I am beyond excited to have it done, and done right.

We are taking our time to work out all of the details and get things right the first time.

Also check out the blog (it gets updated pretty frequently):

Here are some pictures of the progress:

great looking car, I love the wheel setup. Are you going to paint the bay a different color?

Yeah! We'll be back at it this weekend!

S50 is all ready to go, just awaiting the engine bay.

I also added "is" side skirts while it's on jack stands. Pictures of that coming soon.

Also a euro plate tub has been installed. It's gonna be a whole new car, haha

The filler will start to crack! Bad Idea.
All I did was get rid of the silicone and prime, looks good enough for me.

                        You're right.

That would suck if it cracked.. I've heard from a few other people that have used body filler without any issue, but definitely not recommended for any harsh driving without the risk of it cracking.

I was worried about that happening when applying it.

We did a very light layer, but I guess we will see what happens!

It will probably be fine for awhile. Who knows. Stuff is pretty strong.
I thought about it too, but I was not about to redo the engine bay haha
