My 'new' to me 316i E30!

Hi, I'm new to this community.
just bought myself a 1986 316i not with original engine had a 2.0 toyota diesel swap. Painfully slow to drive.. its kind of hard to find an e30 in good condition with original engine round here for some reason! BTW i live in Malta its a tiny island bang in the center of the Mediterranean sea.

paint is quite decent for its age. rims are very ugly but everyone tells me they look good so thats good might be easier to sell. not very fond of the colour wanted black but didn't find any. has just one problem sunroof won't open and its the electric kind!

im planning to get rid of all the chrome except the window liner not a fan of chrome really!

What part are you from? I lived in Mellieha Bay for a while.

A lot of cars in Malta will come with some sort of diesel engine swapped in from another company. Mainly because of fuel prices and taxes I believe.

fuel prices rise every month so i guess thats why the diesels, but its like people here adore the toyota diesels and they just swap anything! even some drift cars here run diesels.

i live in the south of Malta, Cospicua near the grand harbour area.

thanks for the bumpers dont really like them honestly i think the plastics look cool cos here everyone has these chrome ones.

had some time to see what needs to be done and what not, i noticed that the previous owner made a mess of the electrics and i have no rear night lights working no horn bright just comes on whenever it feels like stereo wires are nowhere to be found, sunroof has no power going to it and somethings wrong with the indicators.. and the usual inspection light.. i guess these will take some time to complete, any help regarding the rear lights and the horn would be greatly appreciated as this is my DD now.

i would give them to you if you didn't live half way round the world. tomorrow i might go look for some plastic replacement bumpers and black out the kidneys and wrap the rims in black vinyl for the moment being as i cant afford to spend money on wheels right now. black would make them less blingy and less noticeable hopefully! i want to drop it but the ride is so good i dont feel like ruining it! might also tint the windows what do you guys thing i should do to it.

oh and i removed the chrome arches looks better imo now!

I'm running Vogtland springs on my car; the drop is significant, and the ride is as good as it was on the old, clapped out OE springs. You'll get all kinds of opinions on tint, imo tint is a functional mod keeping the interior cooler & protecting from UV, but doesn't really look that great on a lot of e30s. It depends on your execution really, but I think with the color of the car you could pull it off.

i think you should just trade your wheels for something simple, keep the ride height, and try to take that chrome trim off the fenders, and it will look sickkk

thats the plan for the wheels but i doubt ill find anything that looks nice on an e30 here to trade with and i want 17's too with some lip maybe. as far as the chrome on the fenders those are already gone i will post pics up just after i clean it
