    doin' a bit bidness

well, pulled one of the cars out of the neighbors barn last week and started to get a bit done on it. The dentist my wife worked for has a GTR and keeps bugging me to get to the ring with him (every few weeks he drops thousands on training weekends.) He told me he would show me the ropes.

so, I thought the first thing that needs to be done is the crappy 5 lug wheel sitting incorrectly needs to be fixed- I want to have alot of brake and ZERO tire rubbing. Well here are a few things I collected up over the winter for the car.

It's moving along a bit atleast.

pulled it out of the barn looking like this--
It's a 2.7 with an Alpina/schrick 268, hartge headers, IE oversized valves, and a bit of port/polish done on the head, and Alpina ECU, 3,91 visco....everything is poly, or new BMW rubber.

put the M coupe rotors and knuckles on it

    what's peaking out there?

    the cheapy coilovers

have had these wheels for a bit now (all 4 are the 8.5", thought they would be the perfect offset-- nope, need spacers for the coilovers. still need to refinish the wheels though.

and on the car, yes, the rear is for the other side front- want to see what kind of tire I can squeeze under the rear-- but it seems 16" doesn't offer much............. so it seems it will be 225/40/16 for all four corners.

and a bit of that fast and furious for those of you e36 guys out there. I just put the euro S50 back together on it after it ate a cam nut and exploded itself. lambo doors, huge wing, airride and lexani's what more could you ask for!

That E36 is revolting. It seems like you are staring to do the same to the E30 by putting corvette wheels on it.

Stop ricing out BMWs and buy a VW.

why don't you keep the steelies? i'm sure they were heavy but at 17" you could fit a lot wider rubber under there (plus i like how they look better)

or grab some LTW's or DS2's in 7.5" all round, with 235/40/17's.

personally, i like the vette wheels, the steelies are 7" wide and et47, and the 2 piece style 5s were also too narrow at 7,5" with 205 tires

I don't understand how a set of 80s turbine wheels on a euro car would have anything to do with "rice" or buying a VW for that matter.

just wait until the wheels are painted and done up in the 80s DTM retro style.

I did try to find DS2s for a long time, but everyone kept flaking on me.

The vette wheels don't look too bad. They also offer a brake cooling affect if they are put on properly.

          What coilovers are you running?

lmao that e30 doesn't look like its headed anywhere near what the e36 is.
and if your gonna start complaining about the riced out e36.... well, that is the life that pretty much half e36's have lol atleast in california.

Wow, that looks great, Mike! Wheels work so much better with the mtech II kit, than stock body.

^ that is kinda close to what I have planned.

the car is a bit dirty as well as the reflection-- the sun kinda made the pics look like crap.

BTW, the e36 is NOT mine- I just fixed it.

the coilovers are raceland-cheap, but really have a not too stiff, not to hard feel to them- time will tell how long until they start leaking and I have to spend some real money on them too.

Either way, glad to hear that the E36 is not the OPs car :P

I like it, but like the steelies too but having a set they are what they are rims for snow tires.
