I`ve gotten a few offers to trade some of my wheels for type As. The problem with 12 wheels is not fender figment. Assuming your not going for a 0 offset but the tire selection. With a wheel that wide you pretty much have to run a 275/40 which is way to tall for an e30. With a 10.5 or 11 you can stretch a 255/40 which is much cheaper and not so tall.
and for those of you with pipe dreams and pocket lint its $5-600 to widen two lips.Leave a comment:

Hmm what all is involved in widening wheels? I'll be picking up 17x7.5...but I'll be lucky if I can afford tires for them after I spend all this money on suspension.Leave a comment:

Oh okay. I thought there was a like driveability issue or something, but at the same time I couldn't think of anything that it could be. it could definitely be annoying to have to unbolt another thing to get the rotors off and such or swap wheels. But I don't think they made 4x100 17" A's, did they?Leave a comment:

honestly it just gets tiring, by all means dont let it be the reason you dont buy your dream setup, i just got tired of undoing extra bolts just to put a spare on.. and then the allen keys strip ughhh.. i just had to deal with one today and im just about saturatedLeave a comment:

Just a question, what's so bad about adapters? I've run spacers but never adapters.Leave a comment:

thank you sir, i will do whatever i can to get my hands on rear dish... and not 7" of itLeave a comment:

I liked the 17" you had. But again, i can see why you hate adapters.ya the 12 rear setup is an idea that lasted a few weeks longer then it should have, just sounded crazy, and thats kinda the theme im going with on this car. i had 17x8 17x9 stagger until about yesterday, but i need something a bit more aggressive, and my setup had adapters.. and im getting tired of them.. just want to see if people have an input, thanks for the pics though. i love spacklers M3, didnt he sell it though?
Going with higher offest wheels with no adapters/spacers (ET45 range or so) can accommodate wider lips. That is what you should do. Deep dish goes really well on E30 verts.Leave a comment:

in all honesty A's have been my dream setup for a year or so but i figured it was played out, thus widening the rears. get fitment, wide rears and i love A's. emailed a guy on BFC, waiting for a response, LET ME KNOW IF YOU GUYS HAVE A SET.. might put a WTB thread..Leave a comment:

I voted 17x12 without thinking about it enough. Do the Borbet A's because that's what i'm getting in a couple months. I'd be interested to see what tire size you run and how the fitment is.Leave a comment:

My blunt but rather honest input:
People who voted for 17x12 are either fu*kin brain dead or they just want to see you fail miserably.
Why is that? Because 17x12 size on an E30 is flat out impractical if you ask me.
Maybe M3s can pull it off with the right offset and rubber / minor body work.
I recommend 17x9 Rear, 17x8 Front, whatever the wheels they may be.
Below is Karlspackler's M3 on 17x10 rears, and it is pretty much the limit.

For reference, below is what 17x10 and 17x12 Looks like. They are cCWs, staggered setup.
