I think the skidplate was the downfall. What are your springrates up front? Stock motor mounts?

They can only take so much abuse, being that low he put his to the test.

If you built the most insane skidplate ever made, still something is going to get damaged if the hit is hard enough.

              Lol!!!

Yeah instead of bringing the pan to Castro for a weld he'd be asking if he can put the pieces back together...come on man.

                Haha, steel oilpan ftw? ;)
And thanks! You should. It give the good illusion that your car is as low as you know it is.

The lip is very very flexible. I love it.
Plenty of "awh crap this bump ahead is going to tear it off", and it just shrugs at it.

550lbs with other goodies allowing me to be this low and even more if I was stupid enough.
The plate was definitely not the downfall. It's one of the best investments I've made for the car. I cannot even count the number of times I literally pulled over to peak under because of hitting things at great impact over the past year.

I'm serious when I'm telling everyone I'm buying another one.

Motor mounts are new factory rubber. I'm debating to go with upside down e46M ones to raise the engine about a half inch or so. I have 2 friends who have done so with no ill effect yet for over a year. One of those friends is also putting down close to or above 300whp. So it's convincing me to do so.

And yes, my car was totaled as of May last year due to a negligent driver! :(
I'll be doing another thread for this one showing the build and fun stuff to come along with it. Just need time and a friend with a good camera to make it that much more pleasing for you guys!

I raised the car exactly 2" on the collars so with simple math it's showing that the car's fender trim was 13.25" off the ground measuring from the bottom portion of the trim.

m42 is a love hate thing. It's scary how low it hangs, but the plus side is that it's a 2 piece pan. So you don't need to raise the engine or lower the sub frame to remove it.

Just unbolt the front and hope you don't find nuts and bolts in the bottom of the tray ;)

I'll give you more info when I get the proper info.
There are arguments back and forth about it, but old rubber vs. new rubber vs. poly vs. aluminum? They can't all measure the same height when the engine is set down on them exactly.
I don't think it will be an issue with the small increase in height.

You'll also need an early model throttle body stuff, since late model hits the hood when doing this
