Good write-up James. Glad to see my old baby reborn. One detail you missed is that I decked the block, not the head .020" to gain a little compression and get the squish zone smaller. The head was skimmed ever so slightly to get a perfect surface. I didn't want to cut such a rare head if it didn't need it.The bottom end was custom balanced as well. I don't know if you guys spotted this engine detail but there is an idle speed adjustment on the housing on the pass. side of the intake manifold. Thanks david, I was wondering where it was, Because the idle has creeped back up to 1k even when warm... I remember it used to idle that high when cold and creep down too 800 when warm, now she wont budge below 1k. She still runs smooth and strong tho. And other then the idle being slightly high, It still idles smoothly.Comment
