Picked up my car today, some cool new pics

I totally wrote a cool little essay on my journey today but decided to delete it and just get down to the nitty gritty.

Bought my 1991, 1 owner, Alpine White, 325ic today. Picked it up in Phoenix and drove it to Northern Los Angeles. 425 miles in 100 degree weather, stop and go traffic, and A/C on full blast.

NOT A SINGLE COMPLAINT! This car handled it like a champ, so solid! I feel like I could take it across the country. The A/C blew cold, it idled smooth, and when the freeway opened up, we were cruising comfy at 80 MPH. The car didn't have a single squeak or vibration coming through the cabin!

Few things I did notice; when we went over rough roads, the steering wheel shakes, not too bad, but bad enough to where I think something should be replaced. At times I also felt like I was driving a boat, I think the shocks may be bad.

Anyways, here are some cool pics I took with my Iphone 4s, and I edited them with a camera app called Camera+. Hope you enjoy!

PS, stay tuned for Nardi wheel sexiness.

Waking up early and washing her and cleaning the inside, then it's off for a nice photoshoot.

      08/27/12 UPDATE
Got some more parts in today..thank you Condor :) Ordered my wheels as well, 16x8's Diamond Racing steelies. I know some of you hate on this rim but I think it flows so well with the car, here is a picture of my inspiration

Here are some pictures of the condor speed shop m3 offset control arm bushings pre-pressed into lollipos with my Nardi wheel from Rennstall.

Took some quick shots of my car before all the suspension goes in (H&R sport springs/shocks) tomorrow. Will take some pictures to show the difference in ride height once it's all said and done.

      next to Lugo's car

        De-Badged / De-Vinyled / Detailed
I took off the old school vinyl sticker endorsing the dealership where it was purchased. It was pretty easy, just used a heat gun and peeled off the stickers. Taking off the 325i left a lot of residue, so I took a plastic blade, goo gone, and the heat gun and scraped most of it off. The remaining gunk/outline was then polished out with polishing compound. I then detailed the car (wash, polish, clay bar, wax). This took me like 5 hours in total and unfortunately it was night time when I finished so I didn't get a chance to get any good pics. The paint feels phenomenal though, the best way i can describe how it feels is..."rich."

        Before Debadge

        After Debadge

Post Claybar pics (bad angles, and bad shots, but all I could get before it got too dark) Look at the shine! Beautiful original 21 year old paint.

I dig that red top, too. Nice interior, engine bay, and paint as near as I can tell. I can see that you're having fun with it! I'm dd-ing the 90 vert I got in December '11, I think I'm a vert convert.

                              nice pickup looks very clean.

check your tie rods/control arm ball joint and CAB. My e30 had same shaky steering wheel over bumps and boat feeling...turned out they were all shot. Replaced and now it handles like a champ.
Had a smooth purchase transaction with me?
