    My new 325is

1990 325is 5-speed, gray leather interior, 129,000 miles, missing the lip... and the timing belt, etc, was just completed.

Metallic silver, 6-disc CD changer, original manuals in the glove box

This is as flawless as I've seen for an original car.

After looking at a few pics, I think that trim piece around the rear window is supposed to be body color, not black.

Can somebody confirm that for me? Maybe the PO started a shadowline project and gave up?

yeah it should be. well, after seeing just every other e30 with body colored window trim pieces i would assume so. how much did you pick it up for?

Yep, found silver under that black paint. But I think it is going to take a remove and repaint to make it look right again.

Good time to do the full shadowline treatment I suppose. I'll have the body shop spray them when I get the battery box rust repair done.

Got that black paint off with some 1000 grit and buffing compound. Looks much better now.

Need to get the IS lip on order from Blunt. Then I'll have to decide to stick with black lowers or going body color.

Black imo, it just flows better. If you were to paint it, side skirts would be next on the list...painted of course. Nice car!

Lost the clutch slave cylinder this morning...

                          Ordered parts this evening...

Back up and running on Saturday...

                          The journey begins

A simple clutch master and slave has turned into a real project, including the rear subframe rebuild and gas tank swap:
                              1. New SST brake and clutch lines.
                              2. New AKG and stock bushings as appropriate
                              3. Swapping out the gas tank because PO jacked the car up on the existing one and caused mystery issues with the return line

                              And then I got, "I'm there-itis
                              1. New springs, shocks, drop hats and shock mounts
                              2. IS lip and clips
                              3. Rebuild 4 brake calipers
                              4. Guibo & Center bearing

Looking forward to rolling this thing down the road instead of wrenching on it, but at least I'll know this stuff is good to go for another 20 years...
