It is the notion that if your car already is an eyesore, and it would take immense work to restore it, much less effort can be put in to make it a deliberate eyesore in sort of an interesting and eye-catching way.
Take my buddy's car for example, he picked it up for $500, bone stock and an ugly rust bucket, so why dump money into it to make it look pretty? May as well make it just look interesting instead!

OP should break out more aircraft stripper and a DA sander, and an oil-rubbed finish. it looks unfinished as is. that's an early model too, right? i think euro bumpers and shinier wheels would actually make the look work. then again you may approach stanceworks leghumper poseur status so be careful.Comment
