That's Michelle, I had my way with her for three plus years and
she was fantastic, quirks and all the car never let me down a
single time. The only downside to the car was that it had been the
single good thing about my life for the past couple of years. I'm
getting out of some tough personal times, and through all of that
the car had been my source of release, and enjoyment. With most
of that in my rearview, the car started carrying some sweet&sour
feeling every time i got in. I also like to think that I learned to take
the subtle hints life gives you when it's time to move on, and in this
case a fantastic opportunity came around that I couldn't pass up.

Rewind to just a week before the e30 picnic, while idle browsing of
the internet a curious, passive search of Autotrader led me to the
ad of a 1991 325i coupe in Silverdale Wa. far cry right?, I Live in Los
Angeles. I clicked it anyway and thought nothing of it at the time.
After reading the ad and seeing the photos the more I looked at the car,
the more I wanted it, it seemed perfect. So I called the guy selling the
car and asked a bunch of questions, it turned out that the man bought it
from the original owner back in 95 and had been meticulously maintaining
it since, and was now only selling it after buying a 330ci the urge increased.

I took advantage of that one of the local forum members, thank you Brett!
(Mammothe30) was making the trip to Wa for the picnic and asked
if he'd kindly check out a car for me during his stay, he agreed; the
weeks wait felt like months. I finally got the call from him and he gave
me the thumbs up and I arranged purchase with the seller through the
week, the next weekend I was on a plane with my girlfriend to Seattle.

Taking off, overseeing the location for the local Dockweiler meet in
December, and closing the day with destination points clear in sight.

The next day we rode a train from the hotel by the airport to downtown
Seattle, loved the greenery and cleanliness of the city/state. Got to
downtown and walked over to the pier where we jumped on a ferry.
    v

Left Seattle and headed to Bremerton where we picked up the new
    girl.

For the next two days, we drove nearly every mile of I5.

Once home, the first thing I did was to swap out the comfort seats
and the automatic transmission for a g260. Thanks to mkcman17,
yert315, and einstein57 for letting us use his driveway. The
swap was completed in 11hours. Tacos were eaten at midnight.

put on euro spec trim, smoked turns and wired them to only
blink as euro cars have them iirc. The weaves went with
the white car once it was sold and i kept the borbets, go ahead,
poke fun at the stock rideheight now, suspension bits will be
    put on soon.

finally took off the swap heat cover rag and got the rubber heat
shield in so i could put this on...

oe shifter boot and zhp knob

replaced the chipped mirrors with some minty clean ones.

went to carbecue and traded my i lip for this is lip.

got the interior pretty well pieced together, but something
    was missing.

oh yea, and its got this nifty piece of glass stuck in the roof.

More progress to come, as I learned from my first one, they're
    never really done. C&C welcome.

Nice story and wheels. I can't remember, but I didn't happen to sell you those Laguna mirrors, did I?
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

Definitely a worthwhile upgrade from the Alpine car.

I love it man, looking forward to the progression.
