Carguy101's apline slicktop build thread (pic heavy)

Ok, I have been on here for some time and have yet to make one of these so I may as well show what I have done. Background on the car, originally bought in Orlando, so always a Florida car and rust-free too.

I bought it in August of 2009

This was the day I bought it home. Only modification it had that I kept was the K&N airfilter element. Rest of this stuff went way

First order of business was to take off the DTM mirrors, the ///M badge, and put on tint.

I then smoked out the turn signals and put on the Mercedes fog lights and a Volvo lip.

I then had this loud DTM exhaust on for a bit then removed because it was just obnoxious. (One thing I wish I could do over was to never do this)

I had put black roundels on and blacked out the kidneys and put in a MT1 wheel.

Some time went by before the fun began.

    Difference between the basketweaves.

Shortly after that IE3 springs w/ Bilstein Sports with mounts etc

More time went by then this went in with dyed carpet and door panels

Replaced the subframe bushing with IE Race (my neighbors were wondering what I was doing during one of the tropical storms lol)

    More goodies that went in

Who says you can't use the e30 as a truck!

    As she sits now

Having some fun beating Corvettes at their event with half the number of cylinders :D

As of 9/16/2012 here is a list of what I can remember of what is done to the car.

    Drivetrain:
Metric Mechanics 12# LTWFW and larger M20 clutch assembly
    S3.73
    New rear half shafts
    Electric fan conversion
    COP conversion
New seals on transmission and rear crank main
    Replaced driveshaft
Replaced muffler to new stock Bosal

    Suspension:
    Brembo front blanks
    Hawk HPS pads
    IE3 Springs
    IE race rear subframe bushings
    Bilstein Sports
    E90 top hats
    Replaced front/rear strut/shock mounts
    TRM C1 15x8s

    Interior:
    Grant steering wheel
    ZHP knobPower steering delete
    Crack free dash
    Replaced seats with black leather
    Pioneer head unit
    JBL front speakers
    Pioneer rear speakers
    Keyless entry system by GE
    VDO clock
    Armrest

    Exterior:
    Installed fog lights
    Euro bumper trim
    15% tint
    Repainted bottom black trim
    IS lip
    New roundels
    Rear US plate fillier
    Tinted tail lights

Thanks! It has been a work in progress and I have learned quite a bit in doing so.

Nicely done, clean and simple. I always love a nice alpine e30. The chrome kidney looks way better than the black.

My favorite thing in this entire thread is your golf license plate. Very jealous.
            Nice car as well.

What would you replace it with?

I haven't decided yet but a e36 M3, Porsche Boxster or 951, Jag X-Type Sport, or if possible a S2k, but must be manual. I still am uncertain if I want to sell it, just kinda depends on the day, ya know?
