    New member from Columbus, Ohio...

...well, thats were I work. I actually live about 30 miles east.

Name is Chris and i have lots of hobbies...boating, motorcycling, amateur radio, chess, r/c, shooting, and now...my '87 325i Cabrio I picked up on the cheap.

PO had over $9k in receipts. It has new steering rack, complete front suspension, Bilsteins all the way around, clutch, exhaust, tires, timing belt, and water pump. She has 124k on the clock, runs perfect, handles tight and straight, and leaks not one drop of anything!

    Here are some pix...

I sort of like the amber high beams...gives it a "European" look I think. Anybody else?

Proper pick up! If you'd like to do some minor cosmetic touch ups, you should paint your faded front bumper impact strips and headlight grills with SEM Trim paint or the duplicolor equivalent available at your local parts store. It will make the front look so much better. You could also pick up a new chrome or black lockstrip that goes around the windshield to replace your old, worn out one.

              The chrome lockstrip part number is: 51 31 1 884 402
              The Black lockstrip part number is: 51 31 1 968 445

Congrats on the purchase. She looks mint. Treat her well and enjoy.

We are pretty close to each other...I live on Blacklick Eastern Rd. However, shes our "3rd" car, and only comes out in warm clear weather. :D

Had a guy follow me home the day I bought it...offered us double what we paid for it...wife said no. :D

                      Sounds like great advice, thanks!

I would like to replace it with the original chrome one...is this job hard to do?

Thanks, shes already snuggled asleep in the heated garage. :D

it's an easy enough job if you get a lockstrip tool similar to this, leave the car and new lockstrips out in the sun to become more pliable, and use lots of soapy water.

and SEM is fine on the plastic bits, but use back-to-black on the bumper (or even peanut butter!), cause the paint will likely crack in that application.
