    NEW 318is. WOOT WOOT

Hey guys, new to the forum. Have been looking for an e30 for quite sometime now, just never got around to getting one. Wanted to find THAT e30. I guess i found it. 1991 318is. Fully stock. 143k miles. Has a few problems but nothing major. I drove it home 30 miles, ran great. Parked it, stood for 2 days. Tried to start it the second day, started and was sputtering like death. Dies after like 3 seconds of being started If i give it throttle, it will rev up only sometimes and others will die. Im thinking vacuum leak or something. Who knows. Will start looking at it all here on my days off. interior is FLAWLESS. Just put a new ken wood deck in it. Cant wait to start getting into this thing and modding. Sorry for the garbage picture, will get more soon. :)

Do the stomp test to see if the car can tell you whats wrong with it. It could be you AFM.

when mine was parked in a mechanics yard for 1 year I found it to have rats nest in the intake boot from grille to airbox. it was also torn which gave it shit idle.

some duct tape fixed that 100%! until I got my hands on a new proper boot. good find! love my 318is!

Tried. Just gave me code 1234. I'm going to start digging in the bay here this next week. I work nights at a hospital so don't get much chance to do anything but sleep on threats I work. :) can't wait to meet the wisdom hereon the forums. Was a Honda guy for a number of years and can't take it much longer. Still daily drive a little 2 door coupe but dealing with the Honda kids here in Seattle just sucks. Hopefully the bimmer crowd is a little less ignorant :)

The rat thing was probly a nice surprise. Previous owner told me this one sartorial 2 years in his driveway because they couldn't pass emissions to get new tabs. Exhaust probly has a million holes or something is going on cuz it sounds hideous. I hope I don't find any living creatures in my bay lol

Welcome. You are also going to want to peruse www.m42club.com. The 318's are great cars. Look in the PNW section for regular meets etc ...
