My New 1989 E30 Vert

Hi All,

I'm brand new to this board and I'm a total BimmerHead. This E30 is my 4th type of BMW (priors were: E36, E46 and a 2012 F650GS).

I will need help and lots of it as the E30 was always my dream car and always wanted to do a full restore on one of them but never had the time for such a project (and funds).

Here is what I have planned:

Step 0: It needs a new roof so that will be the first step. (already booked)

Step 1: Swap Engine, Trans and Steering Column for S50B32. Electrical, Cooling and AC rebuild them to "as new"

Step 2: Brakes, Exhaust, Steering, Coil-Over Suspension & Wheels

Step 3: Full Interior restore, Modernize Audio, add Remote Door-locks

Step 4: I need to figure out what to do with those bumpers because as they are I find them FUGLY. Do I keep the DBs and find a kit for them?? Do I go plastic?? I'd like a Full M-Tech 2 bodykit.

Step 5: Take everything apart and repaint, replace all chrome trims with black ones, shave antenna and replace with SAT, delete trunk brake light.

If you can share your experience in any way or suggest I do some things differently I will appreciate it grandly. I am activly looking for a shop to take care of this project for me.
