    My new '87 325is

I picked up this '87 325is the about 2 weeks ago. These pictures are from the day I bought it. For the moment the only thing I've done is get a new control arm and wash it. I haven't had any time for anything else yet. Here's how she sat the day I got her home:

The only changes I see in the near future are going to be cleaning and making her look real pretty once again--lots of buffing, restoring the leather/interior, and getting the trim back to black. I spent all my summer's wages on the car and the control arm repairs so actual mods have to wait until I make some more money :(

I look forward to seeing how well the paint buffs out. I drove my `87 briefly, bone stock, but now it's getting gutted to be my track car.

I really should buy a clean iS and just keep it stock...

    Congrats on your car!!

Thanks! And rather conveniently, I was just about to post a few pictures of it after a quick wax.
Here she is after a very brief wax:

Unfortunately, that's all the pictures I have at the moment. I'll get some interior shots and really truly wax it when I get the time

Nice pick-up! Geez, how many '87 325is were Zinno, anyway? It seems like damn near every one I see is the same color as mine!

Yeah that would be my step father's cayman, which is quite a fun car indeed. More updates to come!

Mines Zinno ;) It takes some elbow grease, but a good polishing compound works wonders on this color. My car when I bought it:

And now: (front lip was repainted, and disregard damaged front fender from deer incident...)

A little work and touch-ups here and there goes a long way with these cars. Looks like you have a very solid base to start with, can't wait to see your progress.

Wow, it's like night and day after that polishing compound! I know what I'm doing in the near future ;) Is Turtle Wax rubbing compound or polishing compound a reliable one? All I need to apply it is some rags, time, and elbow grease right?

Yep, rags, time (lots of it) and elbow grease is all I used. Can't remember exactly what brand I used, I'll have to look and let you know. I would imagine turtle wax brand would be just fine though.
