            I've done that to an E30 before. It was sort of fun, but I'll never do it again. Just call one of those scrap yards that will tow bare shells for free.

                Too bad it wasn't a 16v, could've kept the stock Recaro Trophies and sold the drivetrain to someone with a mk1 for a decent chunk of change.

                                                    VW's are fine. It's just the BMW elitist attitude types that have put one car down to make themselves feel better. As with any car, if you mis-treat it, it won't stay reliable.
