It's all dependent on wheel size.

I don't know about 17's (Byron would though), but on my 16x8s I'm running 205/45/16s. I've also tried 205/40/16s but deemed them too small.

your reasoning here would make it seem more logical to beat up an older $3k car rather than a brand new one, wouldn't it?

Probably :P But doing so involves spending lots of money on suspension and wheels, probably more than the car itself is worth.

Maybe you should invest in some of those glasses, to match your fender :-D

I also really love PBR. Not in a trendy way though.

great, glad to hear. I started a business with a friend of mine in norfolk, va. moved it back up here a year later. did a few different things, sold sportbikes in the south, s50/s52 swap cars, now working on getting a dealership license up here, have a full shop set up already

we also have a huge showroom we need to renovate, will hopefully double as an artspace/musicspace/partyspace

I'm running 245/40/17 and this is about as low as I can go, and my fenders are pulled. Granted I'm on e36 suspension, 3deg camber, et38 wheels with 20mm spacer to clear front callipers.

The perfect height for slamming is about 23" overall height. 205/45/16 is usually perfect for 16's, 205/40/16's makes the body of the car too low. 205/40/17 is unfortunatly a little too big, and the only 195/40/17 is a Yokohama Sdrive, which is a good tire but runs wide for a 195. The next size smaller for 17's is 185/35/17 but that has the same problem as the 205/40/16's.

For now we allow threads with slammed e30s, soon we will allow hipsters with tight pants. I don't even want to think about what comes after that.
My car is low, but not slammed, because I drive mine at more than 40 mph daily w/o air (unfortunately, but hopefully some time in the near future). Your comment about hipsters is ironic as fuck though.

It's not about size, its how you use it... or your girl said somethin like that.

I mean shit, where i'm at i'm already about 3" off the asphalt. That drop would be another 2" or so... my pan would break every 50' w/o the plate, and that would throw sparks down every road i drove on lol.
