Meet Tara (Non e30 content!, but new ride)

Our neighbor to the shop runs a custom Motorcycle business. He also owns a S10 with a v8 swapped in. The S10 needs a new engine but he doesn't have the time to do it, and doesn't want to spend cash. So today, we were talking, and I mentioned that I want to build a bobber on a budget. I was hoping to find bits and pieces of bikes laying around and build something. It just turns out, that he had something I wanted, while I have the means and time to swap out his engine.

When the bike is finished, it will be ultimately up to my Wife whether I keep it or sell it. Hopefully she falls in love with it.

I give you Tara. She is a 1977 Suzuki GS750.

She came with everything needed to put her back together. The motor is fresh, she was someone else's project that was never completed. I will be doing mild work, no extensive frame modification. No rear fender either, but I will have to incorporate some kind of removable passenger seat for the occasional ride with Melissa. (My wife)

My goal is similar to the link below, I have a thing for Olive Drab and Semi-flat black.

      Everyone's new favorite fad project.

But all douchebaggery aside, looks fun! Hope it turns out like you envision, and be careful!

No really a fad project here. I have had 3 motorcycles in the past, but I was too focused on going fast, and I bought sport bikes. Now I'm heading into my 30's I just want something I can ride and enjoy, without killing my neck, back, and wrists. (Yea, i'm putting the shocks back on, no rigid frame for this guy.)

I've been riding since I was 12, after my last motorcycle accident (hitting a deer at 70mph), I hung up the helmet.... Until next spring it looks like. (Edit: Correction, my last motorcycle accident was a low speed high side in cold weather that cost me my elbow and 6 weeks of work)

I love my e30 because I have built it, and I don't owe any money on it. I plan on applying the same logic to a motorcycle, when you bring something back to life and don't have a loan against it, you tend to appreciate what you have more.
