Sounds like a normal e30 to me! They all sound like sewing machines, and if they don't, something is wrong. Now if the ticking is really loud then I would go back and check that you properly torqued the eccentrics.

Edit: Actually, I saw your second video of the before and it does sound louder, but it could just be the video...But I would go back and check that your clearances are still in spec and also, did you set if when it was cold or hot? I think the specs were something like .010 cold and .012 hot?

Yeah the before video was from the other side of the engine bay, I'm pretty sure. And the engine was stone cold when I set the clearances to .010. I'll probably recheck it anyway, and switch to the thicker bmw recommended oil.

Where can I find the right and left sunroof guide rails with pins for a manual sunroof?

Found them on bavauto.com, but they're over $80 for each side. :-/

Update: Idling real nice now! Swapped in a new Throttle Position Switch. Next is to readjust the valves with the bavauto tool, and find out what I'm leaking. Either a slow power steering, or coolant leak.

Also, gotta love living in CT, where you order from Bavarian, and have the part be delivered the next day!

Seem to remember you paid top dollar for yours. $5500 is not a bad price at all for a nearly complete EU spec car.

It cost ? that recently brought his car back that for just the federalization.

Now as to the sound your lifters sound loud. What oil is in the car? Does it have good oil pressure and is the head getting oil? Wonder if the oil spray bar is clogged.

I had adjusted the valves eccentrics, but obviously too loose. Currently it's running Mobil 1 5W30 synthetic and needs an oil change. I'm probably gonna put Castrol 20W50 into it. And the head's definitely is getting oil. Once I readjust the valves, and do an oil change it should be good.

Oh no $5500 is a great price but when I here cheap I around here I'm used to some guy paying $1000 or something. Mine was $7000 with less than 120k miles with recent timing belt, bilsteins, newer pirelli's and working ac and power top. It literally needed nothing but a new glove box latch. Ebay usually yields a fair value.

                          Transmission removal begins...

After one stubborn exhaust nut, and an extractor socket, all I've done so far is get the exhaust removed.

Also, doesn't look like my driveshaft is original, in everything I've looked up, never seen one of these over the guibo?

That's the vibration damper and is an OEM piece. It's no actually necessary, many people remove them and can't tell the difference... :shrugs:
