My 318is after suspension overhaul and new wheels

Picked this 1991 318is up as a daily driver 2 months ago and have put in quite a bit of work on it since. Just got done completely overhauling the suspension with all new bushings, control arms, sway bar linkages, etc. I also built a set of Ground Control coilovers which consisted of shortening the strut housings by 2". I am currently filming a "video build" of all the work I do on it step by step, so that will be coming out once I'm done painting it.

Wheels are 16x8 Style 5's from an e38. Running 42Draft Designs adapters 18mm front, 20mm rear. Tires are 205/45/16's.

Now that suspension and wheels are done, the next task is paint and then the car will be complete and my attention will go back to my Roundie. Let me know what you guys think.

Love the wheels, even with those huge adapters you didn't require fender rolling at all?

Both front and rear fenders are rolled.

That is exactly how I want my car to sit. I can't wait untill I get a chance to upgrade my suspension.

The difference is night and day, although it rubs very slightly in the front on sharp turns and the oil pan is awfully close to the ground haha. Other than that, it rides awesome! I was very surprised with it, I thought it was going to ride a lot worse. Still fully functional as a DD. If you ever want any info on my coilover setup, just PM me and I'll help you out.

Looks great! Almost the exact same set up on mine. 318is slicktop with 16x8 style 5s with the 42 adapters 18f 20r. Except I'm on the GE coilover kit with billy sports.

What shocks are you running for shortened housings and what spring rates did you go with?

nice! I'm running Bilstein HD's for an IX model e30. They are shorter, and I had to make a 1.25" spacer for the strut to sit on so it would be flush with the top. For the rear I am running KYB Gas-A-Justs for an 82-02 Camaro.

                              My spring rates are 440f/650r

edit, also just realized you have the red late model. That car was a huge influence on my wheel choice decision, I love that thing!
