Ok so it turns out that I only have one in-tank pump? Unless it's on top of the tank where you can't see it.
I ended up running a new larger return line, but it didn't completely resolve my high pressure issue. I tested it some more and the bottleneck is now occurring at the nipple going into the tank. I was about to just put in my aftermarket pump, but my buddy mentioned using a resistor to knock down on the pressure that the stock pump delivers. Good thought? It worked.

ok I was thinking about doing this? How exactly did you wire it up? Is it on a switch? Do you still have your ECM in? Relay?I used the stock location of the main pump. stock lines, wiring, everything with the holley blue. You'll wanna keep the lift pump unless your doing a fuel cell as the holley (or any inline pump) is a push type and you'll create a cavity in the line and burn up the pump if you dont have it within 1ft of the pickup and dont have the lift pump.Leave a comment:

I bet it you loosened the bolts on the tank and dropped it about an inch you could do it. That's how I initially unhooked the wiring before I decided to drop it.Leave a comment:

I can't remember, does that drop back into the top of the tank? I sold mine 2 months ago so I can't remember. Dropping it wasn;t to bad. Look at it this way, if you go crazier with the motor down the road your return setup will be ready hahaha.Leave a comment:

haven't had time to work on it recently. I need to figure out how i want to do the fuel delivery. Stay with the stock pump or not? If I stay I need to run a larger return line back and that may be a bitchLeave a comment:

I figured out the issue with the fuel pressure. Turns out the stock return line is too small if I want to run the stock fuel pumps. It can't handle all the fuel that that FPR is sending back. I'm just gonna rerun the fuel lines and prob run a lower psi pump.Leave a comment:

yes, 87's have transfer pumps. it's in the tank, the high-pressure one is fore of the driver's side rear wheel.
regarding the wiring, the fuel pump relay is an SPST relay. it's hot all the time through terminal 30 and in run/start through 86. it grounds to the DME through terminal 85 when it's in run/start which triggers the relay and sends power to the pumps through terminal 87.

since you don't have a DME anymore you could wire it up to complete the ground with the ignition switch. i don't know how to do that, lol.. and i'm not an electrical kinda guy so read all this with a grain of salt (or two)Leave a comment:

I ended up using a custom block hugger on the drivers side and an equal length on the passenger side. If I was to do it again I would probably start with just some shorties and reroute the drivers side a bit.Leave a comment:

I'm interested in how the exhaust comes along. I just bought a set of BBK shorties off ebay for real cheap. Also have Stuart's long tube cobra headers I might experiment with. Trying to help Stuart engineer an exhaust for his car. We all know he wants one. ;)Leave a comment:
