I'm curious, how is the VR6 Corrado reliability?

I've always had the biggest boner for those cars, especially in white. :) I'd never buy one because there are many BMW's I'd rather own, but they can be so damn pretty when modded.

They didn't import white VR6 Corrados to the US. There are white G60s, though, and more than a few have been VR swapped. The reliability is good, but the timing chain replacement at 100-120k can be expensive (partial motor teardown) and the usual large-engine-in-a-small-bay cooling issues apply.

I daily drove mine from 79k miles to 106k miles, the mileage varied by season but I was generally racking it up. Blown ECU relay (40 bucks or so) and a secondary water pump were the only things I had to contend with.

Yea the chains are a given on those motors. As I recall, those secondary pumps are electric. Hopefully, the stealership didn't charge you much, or you did it yourself. The knowledgebase for vr6 drivetrain is limitless. My buddies VR had just over 100k on it before he sold it (pretty sure he put 40k on it). He didn't have any major maintenance issues with it, of course he took very good care of it, and did work himself.
