I pulled the head off, took EVERYTHING apart and cleaned everything. I had to use Tal strip-II on the parts with cosmoline baked on. That stuff is great. Then I just cleaned up everything again and painted things. Cleaned what I could in the engine bay while the head was off and I was waiting for parts. LOTS of time spent cleaning/prepping/painting. But Im a freak like that. I also rust proofed the bottom of ther entire car with POR-15 while I was at it. POR-15 is my new favorite chemical.

Not bad B, so did you strip all the undercoating off also?

I did not strip all of the undercoating off. Ony in a few spots where it has been damaged. car has seen some winters but is VERY clean. Minor regular surface rust underneath on the usual areas, except the exhaust, thats new and stainless.

those are some seriously nice cars. I considered a 535is before i bought my car, but my heart was set on an E30. the track rat looks super clean and beautiful, especially for a track rat.
