    My first car

Hey guys! I just got my car today, not only is she my first BMW. But she's also my first car. I'm 16 and I was looking for something original, every other kid nowadays has a Honda or VW. I wanted something that has character and you don't see on the road everyday. So after saving my money and searching Craigslist every single day I finally found her. A 1988 BMW 325is, now she isn't the cleanest or the fastest that's for sure but I get to work on her and learn. That's what I love about it.

Nice first car, it's a 325i sedan though. In North America, a 325is was strictly a coupe, though you could get a 325i coupe. Someone has changed your badge on the trunk (the placement is off too). You'll get used to the nomenclature around here pretty quick :) Post some interior pics!

Haha thanks for telling me, I didn't know that. I only thought it was a 325is because that's what the emblems said on the back.

No worries. If its an '88, someone also did a pretty good job on giving you the more desired plastic bumpers as well! They usually came with big, awkward looking aluminum bumpers pre-1987, though 1988 got a decent facelift. What are some big plans for it?

Well first I'm going to try to clean the body up and get all the dings and bumps out of it. Then I'd like to get some better rims and tires (bbs if I save and get lucky). I'd also like to get an adjustable camber kit so she handles better. The guy I bought it off of said he already put lowering sport springs in it. Clean up the engine and get a cold air intake. Then I guess I would have to see where I would go from there, cars like these are never finished. You can always do something more :)

Thanks, I want it generally original. Maybe a few things custom but other then that she's going to be clean.

That's a great first car. Congrats! If the car is an '88, someone swapped it out for the more desirable, '89+ plastic bumpers. The car also has an iS front lip and rear euro plate filler.

Spend some time detailing her & cleaning it up. Does it have any rust?
