New interior and I'm 15,000km away..

Well I finally received my seats back from the upholsters.. (not a particularly good experience, wont be going back..)
But for the price we negotiated, I'm very pleased with what I have. I love he fabric and they do feel damn nice!! They did an excellent job rebuilding the foam bolsters and seat supports.

Too bad 3 days after I picked them up I moved to germany where I am now for 6 months.. (I'm working as a clay modeller at VW btw :P)

Anyway snapped a couple of pics before I left, even though the cars not in such a great shape atm.. At least the seats are looking fresh!

Here's what the looked like before:
(discovering it wont fit in the boot)

I like the front seats, but I'm on the fence about the back seat.

Either way this is probably my favourite E30! When I see it I feel like this because it isn't mine...

Cool job. Nice e30 including the stripe. The seats are great. Very comfortable. I understand what your doing. I am having an issue of wanting to jazz mine up or stay safe and have them done back orginal. Nice print. Inside bolsters should have been black or solid grey of same material. Rear seat looks bad. Maybe Rear seat in all black with teal thread only on both ends corners seams and center dividing bolster seams. Centers with black thread. If they had the solid grey print then i would have tried that combo.

Do it over..make it better. you can afford it

Agreed, that being said, I cant look at the interior when Im so focused on the wheels. LOVE.

I think the back seat would look better if it was an M3 back seat. It would look nice if the pattern was isolated or defined more if you know what I mean.

                For example, this...

                As opposed to this...

                Maybe someone could Photoshop it.

where did you source the fabric?

looks good - nice to see something a bit different, that still works with the overall look of your car.

Noticed the plastic panel by the lever on the seat in the right photo... Do those recaros allow you to adjust the seat height? Been trying to figure out to the best way to keep that feature on recaros I have that don't have seat adjusters, and weren't originally for a BMW

Yeh.. No i can't afford it.
In fact I did ask explicitly for the bolsters/headrests to be all black and only the inserts in colour fabric. I made it extremely clear. That was their fuck up. BIG fuck up. I didn't have the time to have it fixed (moved to germany) and since they fucked it up, it was significantly cheaper this way than the original quote. Maybe one day I'll change them, but I have other things to worry about.

Yes, Obviously an M3 back seat would be better... but since it would cost almost as much for me to get one as this entire re-trim cost, and they just don't exist in australia.. it's not going to happen any time soon. The back is exactly what I asked for. just something with matching fabric to blend into the back of the car. It is never used/looked at and I certainly was not going to waste any time or money dressing it up..

Cheers mate, it was sourced through the local upholster I used. AST. I won't be going back.

Thanks mate, I'm working in Potsdam which is just south west of Berlin. About 30-40mins on the train. Where abouts are you? I'd love to see your m3 in person if it wasn't too far haha! Planning a trip to the ring at some stage too when the weather starts getting nicer :P
