I wouldn't be putting that engine back together and driving it. Looks like you need a rebuild.
GL
Thats what im doing. Well... more of a half rebuild. Im fixing anything that needs to be fixed and then putting it back together. Im not totally replacing everything.
So today I ordered all the gaskets and things that I have to replace. I should get them before august. Hopefully. I also bought torx sockets for the cylinder head bolts.
Got the exhaust manifold off.
Gaskets off.
I drained the coolant from the block but i forgot to get a picture of that.
Unbolted the central harness plug.
Throttle body and intake boot off.
Another sweet angle.
Close up of the cylinder head.
Gasket doesn't seem to have any damage so I have no idea wtf is going on.
And these are my fuel injectors. I was told they are 19# injectors, but I don't know hot to check. These are the first time I've taken them out.
I finally put my engine back together yesterday. I completed my goal which was to have my car be drivable before august! I completed the goal, but not as well as I could've. The valves timing was very off and it was a very rough ride. I drove it around the block but I could definitely tell that something was off.
I adjusted the valves today and I noticed one of the eccentrics was not completely tightened down..
I put the cover back on and started it up and it sounds great. I broke a stud and a sensor so I'm going to the junk yard this weekend to replace those parts.
Pics and a video will be up whenever I feel like it.
Very rough. Got played by the guy who sold it to me, had problems constantly, and it cost me a shit ton of money. Oh well. You live and you learn. I'm just glad it's not a problem for me anymore.
