    Another E30 Project

Found another E30 locally, knew the kid he is relocating so cant take the car. This gave me some room to get it away from him cheap at just $1k. He was second owner, original owner took great care of the car. I am impressed with the original red paint and the condition it is in, doesnt exclude it from minor scratches and age.

Car has 161k on the chassis, 10k on the engine rebuild (he provided papers).

    Car:
    `89 325i 5 speed coupe
Crank Sunroof - Works with handle
Original Tool set - fully intact
    Plastic Bumpers
    Ellipsoids

First of all the car needs an LSD in the rear, only E30 I have owned that didnt have one and wow it makes a difference in the feel of the car, fairly easy to source in CA.

Plans for now will be coilovers and wheels then go from there. I am tossing up the idea of a SBC 350 or a 5.0 since both are easy to obtain, cheap and easy to make power with. Otherwise I will end up with a turbo M20 or M50.

I have a friend in UT who works at a JY and can get me a vortec 350/700R4 harness, ecm, mounts and cross members for $420 so I may go this route.

      thanks!

A few things I have noticed:

      uncracked dash
      temp sensor still works
      h&r lowering springs
was an auto swapped to manual
4.10 open rear end - nice amounts of tq.. needs lsd though

Congrats on the car, looks good!

I won't argue with a V8 swap but if it were me I'd go with the newer 5.3 with a 6 speed. :)
