My First e30

This is my first e30, everyone meet MENA, she is a 1991 318is slicktop. I had been looking for a couple weeks but when a local guy showed this car to me for some reason i was instantly attached. The car came with no motor,trans,diff,or interior. I saved this car from the crusher, i think thats why i liked it so much i didnt want to see a good e30 to be crushed. The car has only one little rust spot that i have found so far and a few dents and dings here and there.Thanks to a good friend i have a M50 and trans to put in. Im not really sure what all i will be doing to it at this point im still learning what works and what doesnt. Agent and chondamx will be helping me on this build.

A Little Progress

I have got a little work done on Mena in the past few weeks. I have been spending most of my time fixing messes of the PO. Ill let the pictures do the talking.

All stalks where cut by PO. Im working on that right now.

Took the Center of steering wheel out to remove the wheel, and discovered there was not a nut holding it on!! GOOD JOB PO!!!

Thank you and I've done alot of cleaning but not to the point of perfection. Its going to be a track/fun car so some things I'm not to worried about. I was wanting to clean and paint the engine bay before i dropped the motor in but the entire suspension is laying in the garage floor. I should have thought of that before i dropped it all out. Also some things that the PO did to it killed the car from ever being back to its original shape. So I'm focusing most of my time on getting it on the road.

After a few months of saving I have made a good dent in the to do list.

New Parts:
Rotors
Hawk high performance pads
Rebuild kit for e-brake
H&R sports
KYB Gas shocks and struts
Shock mounts
Strut mounts
Condor bushing kit(all bushings)
e36 Rack
Outer tie rod ends
Sway bay links and bushings
Water pump
Front control arms

I have just a few more things to do and buy before it is running. I am shooting to have it on the road in the next month.
