So I was just browsing around and dug up this old thread. I'm the one who bought the car from Thad. The car was a project for my son and I. It turned out to have a few suprises. Apparently the car had been in a significant accident with most of the damage to the underside at the back of the left front wheel well where metal was torn thru to the dead pedal area. This area was then heavily rusted. Both trunk pockets rusted thru, and the sun roof panel contained lots of rust.
We repaired all of the rust and replaced the sunroof. Removed all sound deadning material in the trunk and floors. We removed the heavy OE carpet and replaced with lightweight black generic carpet. We sprayed the headliner black with vinyl paint, added a Kirk rool bar, and recovered the seats in black microsuede. We completed all the body work and resprayed the entire car. Sprayed trim for shadow line, added euro bumper trim and new roundels. Added 17" wheels for street, and 14" weaves with Hoosiers.
All A/C equipment and power steering removed. New timing belt, guibo, wheel bearings and tranny output seal got the car thru it's first tech inspection. Converting the injectors back to stock got the car running and idling well.
