    MD's Projects - [BMW E30 & Volvo S70] {Picture Warning!!}

    Some Background:

My name is Matt living in the all exciting CT [Home of the Rust]

My daily is a Volvo S70 GLT 1998.

But that wasn't enough, I wanted a project and ya... I definitely have one now!

In CT finding a car that's 20+ years old without rust is close to impossible. But I managed to find a 1987 BMW 325 at a dealer in Coventry for less than a grand. When I first got it I had some plans for it but just wanted to Stage Zero it first. When I drove it home I got in my drive way and immediately blew a Brake line :( which a major buzz kill. Later that month a friend of mine found a small garage that had 1987 BMW 325is in the same color!! The only problem was that this car couldn't me registered unless it was reinspected in MASS due to a salvaged title. That didn't stop me from buying it though.

My plan for this car is basically No Plan just stay tuned.

    Here's The Vo:

My Plan for this car is to do the following:
    - Stage Zero [Done]
    - 18' Wheels in Spring [Pegs or Mirzams]
    - T5 White Injectors
    - T5 16T Turbo [High Pressure]
    - T5 ECU
    - M56H or M56L Transmission Swap [Auto to Manual]
    - Pedals, Slave etc from 1996 850 Volvo

    Ya did I mention I **** SNOW!

    And Here's The Main Build:

Pics of the Stockhold of parts I've been collecting soon to come and downer car pics.

    Thanks For Looking!

          Newest Update:
Been trying to get done as much as possible so I forgot to take pictures during the processes but heres what I got. I had to take the rear end and sub frame out of my parts car and place it into my project car.

Went from open diff to 3.73 LSD
          All new LSD deals
Changed all the bushings (Pain in the ass!!)
Replace all the rear brake lines.
          New Calipers
          Resurfaced Rotors
          Started work on rust spots

Project Car Old Rear End out:

          THAT IS ONE RUST MEATBALL!

Old Calipers (Broke the Nipples trying to see if I could bleed them, no luck):

Adapters Came in! 4x100 to 5x120 18mm in front 20mm in back (Adaptec)

          Friends subby:

Got dat 3 spoke son! and sport seats, both need some TLC:

The start of the longest day ever:

If you own and e30 you should avoid these bolts at all cost. Got pissed and just cut them off.

          One side out:

Amazing work but man, put those basket weaves on or the bottle caps until you get some suspension. Thing looks like a donk!

Thanks! I'm in the process of deciding between ground control or Germany engineering. Any thoughts?

I'm thinking, why the hell does everyone want to put plastic bumpers on early models. It looks so dumb. The front looks great, but the rear is always so unproportioned. Unless you're going to change the rear valance as well, then I see no point in it. It's like giving a 60yr old new boobs but her ass is still melting towards the back of her knees. Maybe I just like diving boards and euro bumpers because they represent the cars era. So classy bro.

That's just my oopinion. No hate or anything like that intended. Good job on it so far though.
Can't wait to see the motor swap.

What did you do with the donor car? It looked like it had a clean, straight body.

German engineering and ground control are essentially the same thing. They do the same thing for you. I went with GE because it saved me like $100 over the GC kit. I have no complaints and I love em.
