    Nice

    with heated seats :)

if you drop the tranny, remember there were two service recalls. just take care of them assuming the po didnt do them.

also, check your rear towers in the trunk by removing the carpet and make sure you have some Z3 plates on there.

    don't ask.

    congrats.

Nice looking M. I've had one for a couple years and I failed to address some of the major wear points in these cars and I am just getting around to fixing it back up. Like someone else posted check the rear strut towers and also reinforce your RATBs.

What two service recalls.. It had a clutch at 79K. I am going to be checking the rear shock mounts and it has poly RTAB that this weekend... Thanks every one for all the complements..

                    I would recommend these:

To help avoid a situation like this which happened to mine:

                      Sib

First, I have over 200k on my E36 without doing the Z plates but its a ticking time bomb when the shock bursts through the sheet metal. They are more common on M3s from what I read.

The SIBs are the following (highlighted in red below). Google "5th gear lean E36"...for details to see if they really apply to you right now.

You DONT need to do these SIBs. They wont affect the car. I am just saying when you have the tranny down to replace a shaft seal etc then sure get these kits from the dealer. They are really cheap. Again, check to see if the previous owner has done them or whether your car has the 5th gear lean. Trust me. Sooner or later you might experience it which is why you should time the SIBs. If it were my car, I would drive it until you have a reason to pull the tranny and then get the SIBs done.

You want to do as much preventive work as you can when the tranny is down at that point.

                      1) 'Gear Selector Shaft Pin Bushing Replacement' is SIB 23 04 04.

                      2) The SIB (Service Bulletin) number for the 'Hard Shift' catch pins is SIB 23 03 02.
