    Dakar Yellow E36 M3 mini-project

Sup buuuuddies! This is what I've been working on in the past year or two (slowly, money has been tight). She's finally been cleaned up, completed (visually), mechanically sound, and on the road. If any of you will be at GFest '13, I'll see you there! and no, i didnt fully go to the darkside, i've got enough parts to practically build an e30 minus the shell. I'll be back to an e30 when money is better (or sell this maybeee).

how she looked when i got her:
no rear bumper/wing, smashed technoviolet hood, otherwise converted back to stock from previous previous owner.

most recent pics i took of her:
h&r sports/bilsteins, zkws w hid low and fogs, wing/bumper/hood, oz superleggeras 17x8 square (dont know if i love them), along with all other miscellaneous filters tires plugs etc etc etc

i'm pretty happy with how she is right now. maybe a different set of shoes. i love the sound of it, i dont even know if id put an exhaust on. 24v goodness.

thoughts? critiques? i've always loved this color.

big improvement! not a big fan of yellow, but to each their own. I can still appreciate this car.

Looks sexy in its current state. Dakar II is a lovely color too; it'd be nice if there was a way to match the turn signals on front/rear tastefully, I've seen some homejobs for smoked rear turn signals that come out decent. Is it me or are those side skirts a bit light?

Beautiful car, looks much better than it did earlier.

That yellow is one of my favorite colors on the e36 M3 as well as the blue, silver, red...

Very nice recovery! I'd get some amber front lenses and call it a day.

Those the silver Superleggra's from NNJ craigslist? Look good but wheels that High offset seem to look bland on E36's.

I went back to DS1's and have some ACS type 2 in 17x8 et 38 for mine that have minor concave.

i've heard and seen this a lot... i dont know why everyone like amber on these. i'm more of a light smoke kinda guy... keeping the contrast between yellow/black. i'll have to figure something out with the tails too.

                  Car looks good buddy!

I say for the rear signals do E30 style and paint them red. Different but good looking.

I'm really liking Dakar e36's lately. I'll never forget this one moment many years ago on the freeway when I was younger when a Dakar M3 with what I think must have been an LTW wing flew by us. Driving it was some old guy who looked like he was having a great time, lol. I think e36's were still brand new at the time and sights like that were getting me hooked on BMWs.

Doing, great been busy with lemons racing and house renovations and flying. So busy but good. I have a set of factory rear clears that have a small crack.

I like mine OZ's but they are anthracite colored. I debate shooting them to silver. We have an UUC system u on one and the other has a Remus. Both sound good but are very distinctive sounds.

Lookin' good Frankie, Can't wait to see her in person again, I love Dakar yellow!

The wheels are fine. Maybe with a lil spacer that might do the trick but nontheless doesn't take away from the car one bit.

Amber front and rears or European market front and rears.

Smoked never, ever looks good on an E36.

But, nice project. Always loved Dakar!
