    new E30 owner :)

New to this forum but learned a lot of things already from members here and I thank you guys! I am lucky enough to get my hands on one of these amazing cars. A 1989 325i auto trans. To be honest I never seen myself ever owning or even driving an e30 but after learning more things about them and just by having it for a month now, i'm lovin' it! :D got it from bro's friend for $800 and sitting at 157,137 on odo but noticed that it's not working so exact mileage is unknown. Nothing too bad on it except getting it pass smog was a problem due to a bad catalytic. Got lots of plans already and a complete 5 speed swap sitting in my garage just waiting for me and my day off :) ,anyone lives in the bay area/east bay willing to help/company? hehe beers on me :-D. But anyways onto the pictures

so me and my buddy were able to drop the auto tranny today and i gotta say it was a big PITA... I didn't think it would be that hard especially with bolts that are seized up pretty bad... -___- but now we're stuck with the torque converter, how should we go about removing this? I know that's connected to the flywheel by 3 17mm bolts behind it but now theres no tranny to put in park to hold the flywheel in place while we wrench it.

by the way the tranny is already off the car so TC is still stuck on flex plate. Should've removed the TC bolts first before pulling tranny out but we were just excited to get the cancer out that we just skipped it. I've searched around and they said you have to use a large screwdriver inserted in the slot where starter was which i don't really understand or use a wrench to hold camshaft pulley on the front of the engine but seems kinda sketchy because it may loosen the camshaft pulley itself or worse break something in the process? any ideas?
