    My first time detailing

Finally had the chance to detail my car after having her for 3 months now and I did not want to cheap out on the materials and wanted to do it the right way the first time and i think i did alright  now onto it

    before wash

as you can she was looking dirty but not too bad.

    after the wash

onto claying and i don't think this car had been clayed ever. Previous owner probably just drove the hell out of it and brought it to shell stations for quick wash once in a while :/

after claying and she's looking a lot better already

    Onto buffin and polishing :)

started with SSR3 but seemed a bit too rough so i moved down to 2.5 then 1 after that

time to whip this bad boy ;)

and after 9 hours here is the final product..

one happy car and owner :)

Almost got it. Not bad for a first timer. Need to hit it a little bit more with a wool pad then cut it lightly with a fine foam pad. Should be able to get a deeper red out. Looks a little henna ish.

Thanks man. Still learning but this detail gave me more idea how its like. I used the wrong pad for cutting then because I used the orange one to cut then the wool pad to polish i guess next time use the wool to cut then the black one to polish

the wool pad is leaving you too many haze...you should use lake country pads or surbuf...much more easy and better results...

Agreed. Use a nice soft foam finishing pad. Will take care of a lot of those swirls.

Still a nice difference though! Wish I had the patience for this type of work.

Damn not bad at all for never doing it before. Echoing what the others have, you've still got some light buffer trails, another quick pass and finish with a foam pad and the light polish. Great job though, most people are very intimidated by detailing and the only way to learn is to just go for it.

thanks guys. When I got the car i knew right away that it needed a good detail from a rough ownership from PO. If i understand this correctly, use the wool pad to start off with buffing then soft foam pad to finish and apply P21s by hand
